Standard fitment on the SP models, though it may also have been fitted on other 851 and 888 models, is this carbon exhaust guard. It's purpose is to give a level of heat protection to your rear shock damper unit.It is possible to retro fit this guard by either welding on a pair of nuts at the appropriate part of your exhaust downpipe or attatching a pair of 'rivnuts' also known as threaded rivets to an exhaust clamp and clamping this in the appropriate place.
